The Most Precious Gift I Have Received

I was given a treasure from my grandparents, parents, and godparents as a child.  I have walked quite a path and always centered on my Catholic faith.  Now that I am older, I have come to realize that I was given the most precious treasure passed on by people who wanted me to share heaven with them someday.  They truly wanted me to have eternity with God as my gift.  What better thing to give someone.  A person’s soul is the most precious part of them, so making sure it is protected is the best thing you can do for them.

There is nothing more important and nothing more precious than your soul and it’s eternal destination.  We cannot know until we die where we will spend eternity so we have to spend our learning how to attain that beautiful gift from God of spending eternity with Him.  We spend our day to day lives working and doing things that don’t really matter in the long run.  We need to ask ourselves, “How is this getting me to heaven?”  If the answer is, it isn’t, then we need to reevaluate our path.  Our time is precious and short and we can’t squander it.  We are lucky if we make it to retirement age.  Use that time to find your path to heaven.  Use that time to find the one, holy, catholic (universal), and apostolic church that Jesus founded, and all of the sacraments and sources of grace, and the fullness of faith that she contains.  That is the one sure and true path to heaven.

Please know that I want to share heaven with you.  I want that precious gift for you because you are precious to God.  God loves you so much.  Don’t lose sight of Him.

I say this prayer often for you…”O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have the most need of your mercy.  Amen.”

  1. Thank you for sharing these true words. I was given this amazing gift of my Catholic Faith by my parents and grandparents. Although always Catholic, I did not understand how to even attempt to open the gift properly. I kind of just went through the motions for many years…although always believed in The Divine Presence in the Eucharist. After many years, I finally learned that this precious gift of Faith needs to be unwrapped one layer at a time. So many levels and layers of richness and beauty to be revealed to us as we seek and are prepared for.
Love and blessings to you, Bernadette

    • Thank you Bernadette for leaving your comment. I completely agree. So many people go through the motions and don’t really think about what they are doing or why they are doing it. The Catholic Faith has so many layers, like you said. You never can get bored. We are always being formed by Jesus for His purpose and Will. Just when I think I know what He wants of me, He leads me further into a deeper love for Him. Looking back, I see the path He has led me down. Even though there have been some rough spots, He has cleansed me and formed me to what He needs. I have always had a deep devotion to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist too. I would feel so empty without it. I want to share that beautiful gift to others. Thanks again and God Bless you. Frances.
